In this course, you will learn the necessary tools to tell great stories in the medium of graphic novels, such as character development, narrative structures, body language, passage of time, flow, perspective, and composition. You will learn to develop your own ideas from concept to final product and have the beginnings of your own graphic novel on completion of the course.

Character concepts are used in a wide range of visual media and industries, from graphic novels and comic books to video games and animation. Apply your illustration and storytelling skills to capture the personality, essence and story of a character from archetype to storyboarding in this pivotal illustration course. Through assignments, case studies and presentations, you will learn a range of processes, methods and techniques used by contemporary concept artists to generate memorable characters. Guided through prompts and step by step instruction, this course will provide you with skills to both follow a preexisting creative vision or design brief and develop your own unique character concepts.
